Maine Coast Bed and Breakfast Rooms

This freestanding cottage across from the main inn offers guests a cheerful, traditional Maine retreat. A large deck overlooks the causeway, Long Cove, Clark Island, and the ocean. The Main Inn building was built in 1928 as a boarding house for the Scottish workers at the quarry. It was converted to an inn in 1947 and has been in operation since. In 2020, we uncovered the original hardwood floors in the dining room and brought them back to their original finishing. The original stairs the quarry workers climbed to reach their rooms greets guests upon arrival to the inn. Due to the historical nature of the main inn building we do not have air conditioning. The lack of televisions and alarm clocks allows guests to slow down and get back to nature. The WiFi is strong, so if you do need to connect we’ve got you covered.

The Vestry building is a former chapel set on a hill above the main inn building. The rooms have shared deck space, window air conditioning units, and are a bit more spacious than the main Inn rooms. The Vestry rooms offer fantastic coastal views from the second-floor deck — while distant, they stretch wide across the horizon, creating a stunning backdrop. The Vestry is open from May through October and it is home to our 8 pet friendly rooms.
